T5W: Books I Want To Read Before 2019

Howdy folks! I realise that today is probably your average hump day for anyone else, but it’s pretty good for me. It’s my day of because IT’S MY BIRTHDAY. Whoop, Happy Birthday to Me! I had a great pre-birthday celebration this year as I have recently got back from a two week trip to Florida and I bought myself lots of presents. I spoilt myself, and got some pretty awesome gifts from friends and family too, including books. Look at that perfect lead into this week’s post: Books I Want To Read Before 2019.

There are quite a few books that I really want to read at the moment, and quite a few of them that I want to read all at once right this minute, but this list is limited by both time and title, so it’s going to be five. It’s so hard to choose!

Top Ten Tuesday: Backlist Books I Want to Read

Hello there, bonjour, hola, welcome to another edition of Top Ten Tuesday. I have been ‘travelling’ (eating) my way around the world showcase today and thinking about backlist titles I really want to read. I wasn’t even sure what a backlist title technically was, thankfully my friend works in publishing and filled me in. Turns out most of the books I want to read at the moment are backlist so it didn’t help filter them down too much, but I think I’ve managed to get it down to ten titles.

For all of you who don’t know what Top Ten Tuesday is, or don’t know how to get involved, click here. The lovely folks at Broke and Bookish teamed together to create this awesome weekly prompt, which is now hosted by the wonderful Jana @ The Artsy Reader Girl. Then you simply get listing! Book Haul #13

Would you believe if if I told you that I am finally buying less books and reading the books that I already owned? It was worth a try I guess? In my defence, I has been 3 months since I posted Book Haul #12 because I have been making an effort to actually buy less books. I know, you’re probably disagreeing, but I have now stopped purchasing Book subscription boxes, and I am thinking long and hard before I actually buy any books. I have definitely made a little bit of an effort to read books I already owned or have been on my TBR for a while as well, as well as ARCs, which has been fun.

October TBR

Autumn is most definitely here. It’s jumper weather, soup is on the menu, and I am curling under the blanket at night more often than I am not. I love this time of year, especially for reading, and I am so ready! I struggled a little with reading in September after what was a reading packed summer, and I’m feeling ready for some fall stories. I really love this time of year and I have a lot of early starts this month that should leave time for me to read in the afternoons before Emma gets home.

Once again, we’re going on holiday again this month. We’re away for a little longer this time, off to enjoy the sunny temperatures in Florida and to introduce Emma to Disney. As we’re not going until the back end of the month, I am probably going to do a holiday TBR that will see me into November too.

Fall TBR

It’s the middle of September and just a couple of days away from officially being Autumn. I can’t quite believe that we’re already into Fall. Pumpkin Spiced Lattés are already back on the menu, jumpers are coming out of the closet, and boots are back in the shops. I really love this time of the year, from now until New Year is definitely my favourite few months and this year, I get to through Disney into the mix too!

With autumn looming, I thought it was high time to construct a Fall TBR, and it so happened to coincide nicely with this weeks Top Ten Tuesday post. I have found it much easier to stick to TBRs this year than I have in the past, so I’m hoping to commit to reading a mix of books over the next few months to lessen my TBR and ARC piles. That’s the plan at least!

September/Holiday TBR

It’s September, fall is round the corner, the world is gearing up for jumpers and pumpkin spiced lattes, and I am going on holiday. I have been eagerly awaiting September for a while, and although I am not someone who usually wishes the summer away in a quick whirl of sunshine and ice creams, I am very glad it’s here! This month, I am tackling books I have bought and been sent over the past few weeks and months, and I am diving in with the knowledge that nothing needs to fit a readathon challenge. I love a good readathon, but I am also a mood reader, so this month I have decided that I am just going to read what I want when I fancy!

I am also jetting off to Barcelona for 5 days! We aren’t taking checked luggage, so anything I take to read must be able to fit into carry on with all of my clothes etc. so I have tried to think ahead and take a mix of paperbacks and digital ARCs. You’re probably wondering how I plan to read that much in a great city like Barcelona, well, there is a good 5 hours of plane time that will allow some reading, and I shift through books when I am able to stress free read and enjoy them. There’s a beach, and there’s going to be lots of free-time and chillaxing, things that are vastly improved by a good story, so with that in mind I am planning ahead! Any potential holiday read has a little sun next to it!
