Christmas Cosy Reading Night TBR

It’s officially only 6 days to Christmas, which means a week from today it will be Boxing Day and I HAVE FINISHED WORK UNTIL NEW YEAR’S EVE. Can you tell I am excited? It’s the middle of the week though, and others are still only just getting over hump day, so, I am low key celebrating in the best way – in my comfies, on the couch, with a table full of snacks, reading unabashedly for 3hrs because it’s Christmas Cosy Reading night!

Down The TBR Hole #2

Welcome back one and all to Down the TBR hole, where I am attempting to reduce my TBR in number and remove any unwanted books from the list. My list is not insurmountable, and I have made a good effort in reducing it this year, but I want to try and remove any of the books that I no longer want to read, and remove the ones that are only on there because I think they should be and not because I actually want to read them. OK, so, last time I managed to ditch a few reads and my TBR ended on 233 books, but since then I have added books I have received as gifts and added books that I have acquired through charity book hauls, so it currently actually stands at 244 books.

So, how does it work?

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

Down the TBR Hole #1

Hello all, and welcome to a new feature on my blog: Down the TBR Hole. I have seen this post type on my friend Emma’s blog for a while now (click here to read her posts), and is something I have meant to do on my own blog for some time now. My TBR is not currently insurmountable by any means, but it’s growing and growing and I have no idea what’s actually on there or if I even want to read everything on the list anymore, so I am going to try and shorten the list, or at the very least remove things I don’t care about reading to add things I want to finish on there.

If you’d like to follow me on Goodreads, then please follow the following link and ‘Add Friend’.

December TBR

There is nothing else I can say about November’s reading performance other than calling it shambolic. I barely read anything because I was away for half of the month and was very involved in winning NaNoWriMo. I loved writing and the time I was using for other things and ended up devoting to NaNo allowed me to finish 53,000+ words of a comtemporary work in progress, but it came at such a cost. I really want to embrace reading again this month because I love it so much and there are so many stories I really want to shift through. I really need to get a move on and think about things I really want to finish, and not only that, but reignite my love for reading, because last month I only read one book which didn’t really mean I even had enough to do a wrap post about!! T5W: Books I Want To Read Before 2019

Howdy folks! I realise that today is probably your average hump day for anyone else, but it’s pretty good for me. It’s my day of because IT’S MY BIRTHDAY. Whoop, Happy Birthday to Me! I had a great pre-birthday celebration this year as I have recently got back from a two week trip to Florida and I bought myself lots of presents. I spoilt myself, and got some pretty awesome gifts from friends and family too, including books. Look at that perfect lead into this week’s post: Books I Want To Read Before 2019.

There are quite a few books that I really want to read at the moment, and quite a few of them that I want to read all at once right this minute, but this list is limited by both time and title, so it’s going to be five. It’s so hard to choose!

If you want to find out more, or take part in, Top 5 Wednesday, click here to find Lainey and Samantha’s Goodreads page. Continue reading “T5W: Books I Want To Read Before 2019”
