12 Days of Christmas Tag

The 12 days of Christmas take me back for secondary school days, when, during the Christmas assembly on the last afternoon before we broke up for the Christmas holiday, we would all stand and belt this out at the top of our voices. One year, someone made frisbee gold rings to throw every time the line ‘FIVE GOLD RINGS’ was belted out. Ahhh good times.

So, I was looking for some festive tags to sink my teeth into during Blogmas, I stumbled on ‘The 12 Days of Christmas Book Tag’ on Analee’s Blog: Book Snacks, and Joey’s blog: Thoughts and Afterthoughts, and thought that this would be ideal to do the week before Christmas, because yes, we are less than a week from Christmas. Please have a read through my answers, check out Analee’s and Joey’s blogs, and also consider yourself tagged, I’d love to read how you have answered these festive questions.

The Christmas Song Book Tag

I found this festive tag over on Emma @ The Terror Of Knowing’s blog, which is where I find most of my best tags if I am honest. I had a thought last week that it would be nice to try and do a festive tag on each Thursday in the lead up to Christmas, and when I read her blog, I noticed that she was doing the same thing to (in fairness, she does do Tag Thursday so maybe I actually got the idea from her in the first place….hmmm?) Be sure to check out what she has answered for the questions, and please feel free to dive in, comment, or do the tag yourself:

1. “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”: Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love.

I kinda have to say Count Olaf for this one. I hate everything about him and everything that he is, but I kinda love just how evil and villainous he is. He epitomises the whole ‘A villain is a hero of their own story’ archetype. I really think he thinks he is doing the best he can and doing good, just for him and no-one else, woe betide anyone who stands in his way. Continue reading “The Christmas Song Book Tag”

Christmas Cracker Book Tag

I decided that because it was the run up to Christmas and I was attempting to write a post every day for blogmas, it would be a good idea to do a festive tag. After a quick search, I stumbled across this little gem: Christmas Cracker Book Tag created by Lucy @ The Bumbling Bibliophile and Queen of Contemporary. It’s all about wintry and festive reads, and will undoubtedly start to get you in the festive spirit if you’re not already there!

I actually found this tag on Stacey’s blog @ Pretty Books, and decided that this would be the first festive tag to kick things off. As always, if you want to join in, please comment below and consider yourself tagged!

Finally Fall Book Tag

Howdy folks! I’ve been tagged by the lovely Emma @ The Terror of Knowing to do the Finally Fall Book Tag. The leaves on the trees are changing colour, the nights are drawing in, the temperature has taken a nose dive, Christmas has definitely arrived in the shops, and more nights than not I am sitting with the fire and/or a hot water bottle to stay cosy. Add these all up and it means that fall has arrived and made itself comfy. But I can’t take any of the credit for this autumnal gem, it was created by Alina aka Tall Tales – check our her video if you get the chance!

1. In fall, the air is crisp and clear: name a book with a vivid setting!
When I think about books with a vivid setting, I instantly recall the vivid details in which the different London’s are described in Shaes of Magic by V. E. Schwab. The rich smells, colours, and textures described leave the reader in doubt as to which world they are experiencing, adding another dimension to the already rich story.

The Wanderlust Travel Tag

It’s Wednesday again, and as it’s the middle of the week, so, I have decided to break the week up with a lovely travel tag that I found on Nikki’s blog @ Travelling With Nikki: A Blog of my travels around the world. I don’t know who the original poster is, so if you do please comment below so I can recognise them and their awesome questions!

I love answering travel tags, because they really make me think about the places I’ve been and the way I look at travel and travelling. I don’t think about many of these things unless I am about to go on a trip, or someone asks the questions, so it’s nice to put your thoughts down on paper!

Let’s get on with the show: Continue reading “The Wanderlust Travel Tag “

You’re It! Travel Tag

‘Tag! You’re it! A travel tag’ is a YouTube channel tag that I found over @ Travelling Natural. I don’t have a YouTube channel, or at least I don’t use the channel that I have, so I thought I would adapt the tag and do it myself! It’s a snapshot questionnaire about all things travel, so if you have a blog or a YouTube channel, please consider yourself tagged an join in the fun!

25 Questions About Me Tag

I was looking for an enjoyable tag that wasn’t related to anything in particular, and stumbled across this little gem over at the blog: Emma @ Life of Gibbers. It’s a nice little introduction to random things about you, that are nicely personal without being intrusive, and give a wide idea of what I’m like and who I am than a usual bookish tag. Let’s get rollin’.

1. What is your middle name?
My middle name is a cheeky palindrome: Hannah

2. What was your favourite subject at school?
I really enjoyed both science and geography, which is probably why my degree is a BSc in Geography really.

3. What is your favourite drink?
I do love a good coffee, but I am also partial to a good glass of cold lemonade. And not sprite or some other rubbish version, proper, cloudy lemonade. Continue reading “25 Questions About Me Tag”

20 Questions Book Tag

I do love a good tag, and once again, I saw that Emma had done a tag that I thought I would enjoy on her blog, and decided to tag myself. Tag Thursday is a feature on her blog, so I have decided to jump on the bandwagon this week with her. While I found it at her blog @ The Terror of Knowing, it was originally found here! It’s simple title of 20 questions if quite self explanatory, so let’s get on with the answering!

1.How many books is too many books in a book series?

Too many books is when you are finishing the books for the sake of finishing the series, rather than finishing it because you’re still enjoying it. I am a fan of a trilogy, or a series of books that is necessarily long (like Harry Potter) but I get tired of stories quickly if they start to lose steam (Bloodlines by Charlaine Harris), become too ridiculous (ASOIAF). So yes, if you’re writing it to simply make more money and spin that one good idea you had, that is too long.

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

I am a fan and a hater of the cliffhanger. I hate having to wait to find out the answer or the outcome when I know there is going to be another installment telling me, but I am a fan of an ambiguous ending, where, as a reader, I can decide which ending suits my interpretation of the read best. The Harry Potter Tag

I have seen this Tag floating around the internet a couple of times in the past few days, and although I have not technically been tagged by anyone, I have decided to tag myself and just give it a go anyways! I love me some Harry Potter, so I thought this was just made for me! I haven’t done that many tags in a while, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon!

Although I have seen this tag somewhere else too, the I actually got this one from Jenn @ A Page of Jenniely. I tag Emma @ The Terror of Knowing and Jessica @ Ever the Crafter, and absolutely anyone and everyone who would like to take part and do it too! Continue reading “The Harry Potter Tag”

The Beauty and the Beast Tag

Guys, I fancied doing a tag, and have been storing ones I like in my drafts for a while. I thought it was about time to drag one out, and so I had a look and this one jumped out at me! It’s been a little while since the film came out, and I am now eagerly awaiting my birthday to ask for the DVD for my birthday, so I thought I would do this to tide me over. So to start with, the rules:

  • Thank the person who tagged you – many thanks to Emma @ The Terror of Knowing. You said tag yourself, so I did, thanks!
  • Mention the creator – Kirsty @ Kirsty and the Cat Read (her original post is here)
  • Match a book to each of the songs/characters below
  • Tag as many people as you like – I hereby tag anyone reading this who wants to give it a go!
