Brisbane to Southport

As much as I was sad to leave Brisbane, the allure of a couple of days in theme parks awaited. The weather, however was having other ideas. Cyclonic winds and rain had set in and many of the coastal areas South of Brisbane in the direction we were heading were under flood warnings. Brisbane is the first big city we have visited since the single day we spent in Perth. We were both missing the benefits of city life, despite the van, so were looking forward to seeing the city. Once we had arrived and settled into the hostel, in a sort of space, we got a shower and looked into what to do in Brisbane. We knew we wanted to go to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, go to the cinema to see the Avengers, go to the Mount Coot-tha lookout, and visit South-Bank Parklands, so it was planning when to do things to make the most of our 3 nights. Bolt and Rain

As far as places on this trip have been, Hue has been one of the least impressive. There were aspects of the city that were nice enough, but I wasn’t too sad to leave it behind. The motorbike tour was great and all, but I feel like I could have done that anywhere in Vietnam and had as great an experience. It’s a shame we are leaving for such a hefty sleeper train journey.
