New Years Resolutions | 2nd Quarter Check-In

It’s the summer! The sun is shining, the days are long and bright, Wimbledon is on the TV, and we’re closer to this year’s Christmas than we were last year’s. The first 3 months of the year were not my best, and although I am not progressing like I’d like with my weightless/health journey, I think I’m not doing too bad half way through the year!

For the past couple of years, I have made a resolutions list, and then checked back semi-regularly to hold myself accountable and actually think about things to focus my time on. My 2019 Resolutions list is once again made up of a mixed bag of motivations that were supposed to be carrying me through 2019 in a positive and healthy way. I know that I haven’t had these in the front of my mind this year for a whole host of reasons, but also know that if they were, I would probably be making bigger strides than I am this year. I checked in at the end of March to see how I was getting on and definitely think I am doing better than I thought I would be.

My list is split up into sections, just like it was on my original 2019 Resolutions list. I’ve kept it like this to see if there are any areas I’m doing better or worse in, and to allow me to look back at different parts of my life separate from the others. I’m also operating a colour scheme this year too, same as I did last year, because it seemed to work really well!

Tag | 30 Interesting Questions

Happy Summery Saturday to all you lovely people! This Saturday I am straying a little away from books and into the world of random facts. Sarah of Sarah Withers Blogs tagged me in a 30 interesting Questions tag and I thought I would give it a go!

1. What are your nicknames? What do you prefer to be called?

I really don’t have any nicknames. My full name (Elizabeth) has a huge number of shortenings, so those are mainly where any semblance of a nickname comes from. I used to pretty much exclusively go by Lizzi when I was in school – busy Lizzi if people wanted to put a spin on it, and as I have grown up that has shortened again to Liz. I played darts at university and my walk down name/nickname was The President because of my last name – that’s about as close as I have got. Continue reading “Tag | 30 Interesting Questions”

New Years Resolutions | 1st Quarter Check-In

It’s broken record time my friends, but, can you believe that we are already a quarter of the way through 2019. Winter is starting to look like it’s behind us, the clocks have changed, and spring/summer clothing is definitely in the shops! For the past couple of years, I have made a resolutions list, and then checked back semi-regularly to hold myself accountable and actually think about things to focus my time on. I feel like the first quarter of 2019 has been very mixed, in many ways, so it will be nice to think about what I have accomplished and look forward with focus, determination, and quantifiable motivations.

New Year, New Resolutions: Welcome 2019

2018 has definitely not been my year. It’s been a year of challenges and difficulties and even though there has been some amazing high points, there have been some hard moments and some pretty crappy lows. On a global scale, the world is becoming unrecognisable, and uncomfortable; on a personal level, life has been hard, but I have come out of it ready and raring to go. I want 2019 to be my best yet so positivity and productively are the aim of the game.

My final resolution checkin for 2018 was eye-opening, and really made me realise which things are important to maintaining a happier daily life, and which enrich my life on a bigger scale. With this in mind, I am stretching some challenges and focusing on things that improves my mental state and health overall.

So, without further ado, my resolutions for 2019: Continue reading “New Year, New Resolutions: Welcome 2019”

New Year’s Resolution: Final 2018 Check In

Well that’s it. 2018 is all but over and it’s been a mixed bag. I’m not going to lie to you, I’ve found 2018 hard. Some of that is circumstantial, some self-inflicted, but either way, it’s not been one of my best years. Let’s see how I’ve done with this year’s resolutions. Continue reading “New Year’s Resolution: Final 2018 Check In”

New Year’s Resolution: 3rd Quarter Check-In

It’s October. It’s Autumn. It’s over 75% of the way through the year. It’s only 2 and a half months until Christmas. Am I scaring you with the look how far through the year we are updates yet? I’m scaring myself if I am honest! We’re at that point of the year where you’ve done a lot of what you’re going to get done and the rest of the year is quite planned, when resolutions have been fulfilled, or started, or we’re too far into the year to fix, which is terrifying. Let’s see how I’m doing.
