Yes, yes, I know, this is super late and we are way way into March. I am terrible. In my defence, I was on holiday for the first week of March, so, reallllllly, I’m not that behind. OK, so it probably isn’t true, but that is what I am telling myself to make this seem less late. I can’t believe we are nearly through a quarter of the year already. Time flies. I have had a week that has actually, for once, been fairly productive. It has been a fair while since I have had back to back days off where sleeping and recovery was not the main focus, and so I have tried to utilise them (semi) wisely. I have been to the gym twice, and actually quite enjoyed it both times (I know, shocking). I have done a bit of tidying and cleaning around the house (including putting the Christmas decorations away away, and 3 sets of laundry) and have finally felt like I am getting a hang of this bullet journal thing. Another week, another readathon. Another new readathon in fact! This time, I am tackling the TBR Takedown, a new readathon on my list, on that the lovely Emma told me about. It is a low-key readathon held by Shannon from leaninglights (her YouTube & Twitter) and this round, TBR Takedown 5.0, will start at midnight on Monday 6th February and run through until 11:59pm on Sunday 12th. Yes, it may be low-key, but there are a couple of challenges to help you on your way, and prioritise your reading, so I’m going to try and incorporate my reading!
So…..there is this readathon on all weekend. A readathon that I’ve never heard of, but that Emma was participating in, so I thought I would give it a go. It is called 24 in 48, and it is pretty simple really: Try to read for 24hrs in a 48hr period this weekend. Seems easy enough to attempt, if you have the weekend off and stuff. But no, no way, I didn’t take this on sitting at home enjoying a weekend off, I’ve done it on a weekend where I am in both days for a full shift. Well….gotta love a challenge! We’re nearly half way through Bout of Books 18, what is this madness? Not sure I am OK with how fast these readathons fly by if I am being honest with you. Not that I can do anything about it mind. I am really starting to enjoy my second book of the readathon Crooked Kingdom, and I am really hoping for a slightly less crazy day. My head felt all over the place many times yesterday!! When we got home from Bangkok, I felt like I was home from a holiday. I know I literally was, but it was a nice feeling considering how long it took to settle here. The bus journey was epically long, too long, but it was great once we finally rolled into Roi-Et and saw familiar places. Going to Robinsons, and then big C on Sunday was a return to the familiar too, even though we’ve only been to Robinson’s once before. Continue reading “Bout of Books – Day 4”
I wrote yesterday that I am ahead of this Bout of Books, and while this is technically true, I feel woefully behind on my pages read v pages left to read ratio. 269 pages wasn’t bad, but I have 5 lessons today, rather than the 2 of yesterday. Hopefully, I won’t spend as long completing the challenge(s) as yesterday.
