Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Could Re-Read Forever

A perennial problem for all book worms and bibliophiles is what book to read next. Do we launch into a new world, or a brand new character’s head, or get lost in a familiar story that we could read over and over again? I am guilty of reading and re-reading my favourite books, I think we all are, so this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic let’s me enjoy the power of a good re-read.

For all of you who don’t know what Top Ten Tuesday is, or don’t know how to get involved, click here. The lovely folks at Broke and Bookish teamed together to create this awesome weekly prompt, which is now hosted by the wonderful Jana @ The Artsy Reader Girl. Quite simply, you list the top ten of the topic prompt. Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Could Re-Read Forever”

Bout of Books 17: Day 5

bout of booksI hate how quick Bout of Books goes. It’s just over too soon, every time! And while I may not be having a great Bout of Books in terms of reading, I have enjoyed the challenges so far. It’s just a shame that the twitter chats are so US based in terms of time-zones that I haven’t interacted with other book lovers as much as I would have liked so far. Still a few days to remedy that I suppose! Continue reading “Bout of Books 17: Day 5”

Top Ten Tuesday: Freebie

toptentuesdayI’m a little disappointed in myself for letting the blogging slip just because i wasn’t keen on the topic last week and because I was tired (very lame excuses, I know!). My lovely friend Emma made a flying visit, which was lovely but apart from that I did nothing. It was the end of my overtime, which has come as a bit of a relief.  Continue reading “Top Ten Tuesday: Freebie”

T5W: Literary Fathers and Father Figures

118368Way back when I blogged regularly, I used to take part in Top 5 Wednesdays on a sort of regular basis. Since I’ve started blogging again, I’ve struggled with any level of consistency, and found it harder to write things than I used to. The lovely Lainey and Sam who run Top 5 Wednesday started this book meme to embrace listography and books, two things I do enjoy, so I’m finding my inner groove again, and I;m getting back into regular blogging.

That, and I saw Emma’s post and wanted to do one myself! Continue reading “T5W: Literary Fathers and Father Figures”

Marc’s birthday weekend

IMG_7559Our last few days in Perth had been ear marked to do some fun things and see some new places around Perth with Marc and Helen. It would also turn into a bucket list bonanza, and a really good time spent with them alone. As great as it was seeing the lads, we were there to see Marc and Helen. The 140 Character Film Review – Travels Galore

There were too many films to review on one blog post, so I decided to separate the films between two posts. Sorry guys! We have watched quite a few more films than I had realised over the past 2 months (ahh, 2 months already) in addition to all the TV episodes we watched. I’m not remotely sorry, the past 2 months have been awesome. Continue reading “The 140 Character Film Review – Travels Galore”

TBR? What TBR?

Guys, I am in complete denial that I ever decided to try and keep up to date with a TBR whilst travelling. It was a bit of a lost cause from the beginning really, let’s be honest. Not that I haven’t been reading, I’ve shifted through the pages on the long bus journeys, it’s just they weren’t really the books I planned to read. So, as fast as I decided TBR’s were the best way to read, I have decided that they’re not for me.  Continue reading “TBR? What TBR?”
