26th Birthday Unwrapped

As we enter December, and approach the festive period, I decided it was probably a good time to look back and thank everyone for the awesome set of presents that I got this year for my birthday. I had a wonderful birthday this year. I celebrated early by seeing The Killers as a treat to myself, and then spent time with friends and family celebrating in IKEA, The Tavern, and at home. I was very lucky this year as well, I received an incredible set of presents from some very generous people, so, a big thank you to everyone who made me feel old in the best possible way! Fat Friday: Week 7

Another week has flown by. I’ve turned 26 by celebrating in some of the most low-key ways possible, and I’ve been ill. So, it’s been a mixed week. This is going to be a short one folks, because I am too bunged up and full of cold to concentrate for too long, but I didn’t want a week to float by without a post.

Fat Friday: Week 6 @ The Killers

Good evening, ladies and gentleman! The weekend is upon us, and for me, my birthday weekend is here. I have four days off work with very little planned, and I am looking forward to it immensely! To be fair the celebrations really started last night at The Killers: Wonderful, Wonderful Tour but it’s nice to have a few days off to do not very much.

I fell from the wagon, hard last week, and if I am honest, I haven’t truly got back on this week. I haven’t exercised once (which I am very annoyed at myself about) and I haven’t eaten that well in comparison to earlier weeks in this diet, so it could have been better, but at least it wasn’t as bad as last week. Onwards and upwards.

Fat Friday: Week 4

Hellooooooooo. Was that spooky? It was meant to be spooky. Because, y’know, it’s almost Hallowe’en. Annnnnnnyway, good evening and welcome to another edition of Fat Friday. I have a long weekend off this weekend, which means I have had a Friday off that will lead into a Saturday off and a Sunday off. I realise that it is obvious what a long weekend means, but I so rarely get them that I am making a point of emphasising all of the days off in a little row. It’s the little things in life y’know!

Happy Anniversary To Me!

As you have probably guessed from the title of this post, this blog is celebrating it’s one year anniversary today. That means it is one year since Emma and I sat on the sofa in her University house watching Netflix, making fajitas, and constructing a wordpress that I did not yet know how to use.

A year, 10 countries, over 75 books, 50 films, 15 TV shows, and countless experiences later, and I am still remembering to post regularly, and more importantly enjoy doing it. Continue reading “Happy Anniversary To Me!”

Marc’s birthday weekend

IMG_7559Our last few days in Perth had been ear marked to do some fun things and see some new places around Perth with Marc and Helen. It would also turn into a bucket list bonanza, and a really good time spent with them alone. As great as it was seeing the lads, we were there to see Marc and Helen. Birthday Abroad

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me-eeeeeeee, Happy Birthday to me!

In case you hadn’t guessed, it’s my birthday. Well, technically it was yesterday, but I fell asleep as I started this so…oops. It’s a bit strange being in a different country in your birthday. To be honest, it didn’t really feel like it was my birthday at all. Continue reading “Birthday Abroad”

Time Wasting

I am not sure teaching is what I expected it to be. At first, I wondered if it was because I was teaching in a different language. It’s not easy to communicate with the kids, and the adults, in a foreign language, whether teaching or just in general conversation. It’s not easy teaching different ages one after the other, assessing the ability of each class, and the ability of the students within the class as well. I expected those dilemmas to crop up, teaching English in a primary school isn’t like any teaching experience I had so I knew there would be issues that I hadn’t faced before. What I am struggling with is the boredom and wasting time.
