It is March, I haven’t done a TBR in a while, and I am loving reading fantasy SOOOOOOO I think a Fantasy by Female Author readathon is EXACTLY what I need in my life right now, don’t you? Announced and co-hosted by Jean of Jean’s BookishThoughts and Jill of The Book NeUK, the readathon will take place from March 2nd to March 10th and is celebrating all things written by Female Fantasy authors! An added bonus is that it also is celebrating International Women’s Day AND helping me fulfil this month’s Just One More Pa(i)ge readathon prompt!
I actually really enjoy reading fantasy and if I am honest, I read a lot more fantasy written by women than I do by men, so I really like the idea of reading something that celebrates the best of female fantasy writing. There is a bingo board to help those of us who read female fantasy to broaden our horizons and read more diversely. Now, 12 prompts is just too much to battle in 8 days of reading, so books can serve dual, triple, quadruple purposes and cross challenges. I am excited.

I know what you’re thinking: that’s a lot of books and a lot of words. And you’re right, but you’ve got to aim high, am I right? I am already quite a way through Priory and Jonathan Strange, and the latter is my current audiobook of choice, so really I am going to be concentrating on the bottom 3 for the majority of the readathon! I am really looking forward to it!
Are you taking part? I’d love to hear from you!
What books will you be reading this week?
Who are your favourite female fantasy authors?
The Priory of the Orange Tree seems to be on everyones TBR or readathon TBRs this month, including mine. I hope you enjoy it and all the other books!
