Down the TBR Hole #4

Welcome back to this actually quite regular and cathartic feature one my blog! I am really enjoying culling my TBR list down to books I actually have an interest in reading and want to keep on my list. It’s fascinating to see what past Liz thought would be good to add on my list, and trying to understand why added books that I don’t actually remember ever seeing or clicking on! Down the TBR Hole #3 saw some varied and big hitting authors featured, whereas this week’s edition is a little same same if I am honest because I went on a single author run back in 2015! You’ll see what I mean in a moment! Today we start at 239, let’s see what happens!

So, how does it work?

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

1. James Potter and the Vault of Destinies Norman G Lippert

Why is is there? I haven’t read the previous two and got rid of them in the previous edition of Down the TBR Hole so I don’t think this is going to be something I will read and time soon.
Do I own it? No
Verdict? Ditch

2. Café Tropicana Belinda Jones

Why is is there? I read a couple of Belinda Jones’ books when I was travelling a few years ago and really quite liked their light-hearted fun and romance elements. I haven’t read this, but would like to keep a place holder for her on this TBR List.
Do I own it? No
Verdict? Keep

3. The California Club Belinda Jones

Why is is there? I quite clearly went on a run of adding Belinda Jones’ books to my TBR shelf because I liked previous books by her, but the fact is I haven’t read any since adding them, and don’t need multiple by her on the list when I’m not sure if I will come back to read them, so the one book above is the only one that is staying.
Do I own it? No
Verdict? Ditch

4. Divas Las Vegas Belinda Jones

8. On The Road To Mr. Right Belinda Jones

This round:
Kept – 1
Ditched – 9

Overall:
Kept – 13
Ditched – 27

Another one bites the dust! Or, in this case, another 9 books! This week has been a seriously good de-clutter of my TBR shelf. I don’t remember reading much Belinda Jones other than enjoying reading light hearted literature, and had no idea so many of her books were even on my list, so getting rid of those has felt like a big step in removing needless books from my TBR. I still have a long way to go and my TBR list still sits at 230 books but I have made strides to get that down!

Have I ditched anything I shouldn’t have?

Have I kept something that’s not worth my time?

Let me know what you think?

  1. I had to do that in my list, I’ve only kept one book by each other (unless I own more than one then only what I own) and also only the next book in a series that I need to read instead of the whole rest of the series.
