It’s the weekend, yay! I had to work early, boo! It’s the second twitter chat day, yay! It’s the second to last day of Bout of Books 24, boo! Bout of Books 25 has just been announced for May 13th, yay! OK, we could go on like this all day, but I am racing the start time for the twitter chat (4pm GMT/11am EST) to get a post out in the world. I am also hosting today’s challenge again, so check out the challenge section below for more information!
I’m also a Bout of Books expert, here to help the lovely ladies at Bout of Books with all your readathon related enquiries, and to offer all round support and help for the readathon! So please, comment on my updates, and tweet me here!
4:45am: I woke up again without an alarm this morning, and if I am honest, felt as awake as I have done on one of these shifts in a long time. I got a decent amount of sleep and actually napped properly yesterday afternoon and I think it has gone a long way to resetting my sleep clock (if that’s a thing). I’m pleased, I didn’t want my whole weekend ruined because I had to work sleep deprived.
8:15am: I can’t believe that there are so many mixed review for These Rebel Waves because I am absolutely loving it and I’m not sure what everyone sees in it that detracts from what I think is a great book. I guess that’s the beauty of reading though really, now as I sit back and think about it.
10:35am: This morning is going great. Work was quiet for the first 90mins and I got to have a natter with work friends. Then I realised I had a free coffee on my Starbucks card, so I popped out on my lunch and treated myself to a nice coffee. It’s the small things in life and that set me up nicely to see out the last 3 hrs of my shift. It also let me slip out of the office, get a bit of fresh air, and listen to a little bit more of my audiobook. I also squeezed in a bit of time to go back and do yesterday’s challenge as well.
14:30pm: My friend and housemate Emma (over at The Terror of Knowing and fellow Bout of Book-er) feels like crap, which sucks, but she has still managed to tidy some of the house which has really raised my spirits. I feel rubbish that she isn’t well and has spent time when she feels like that tidying/cleaning, but the house has been getting me down, so to see it one it’s way to being a little better has improved my mood. I think I might set about tidying and cleaning a bit more later, don’t want her to have to do anymore on her weekend off!
Today’s challenge courtesy of moi is to think about a book that hasn’t yet been adapted for the screen. With the recent news that their will be a Grishaverse adaptation, it’s a great time to think about dream casts for our favourite characters. Who would be in yours? Keep an eye out later in the day for some of mine!
How has Bout of Books 24 gone for you so far?
Are you taking part in the twitter chat? I will be, see you there!
