T5W: Books I Want To Read Before 2019

Howdy folks! I realise that today is probably your average hump day for anyone else, but it’s pretty good for me. It’s my day of because IT’S MY BIRTHDAY. Whoop, Happy Birthday to Me! I had a great pre-birthday celebration this year as I have recently got back from a two week trip to Florida and I bought myself lots of presents. I spoilt myself, and got some pretty awesome gifts from friends and family too, including books. Look at that perfect lead into this week’s post: Books I Want To Read Before 2019.

There are quite a few books that I really want to read at the moment, and quite a few of them that I want to read all at once right this minute, but this list is limited by both time and title, so it’s going to be five. It’s so hard to choose!

Vengeful V E Schwab

I was super excited for this book coming out. I bought a special edition Illumicrate for the occasion, and have been waiting months for it to be released. When it arrived though it was too pretty to try and read, so I put it safely on my shelf and then never picked it up again because it’s limited edition and therefore precious. I’m too excited still though, and I haven’t been spoilt yet so I think I should probably think about reading it before it gets ruined.

Our Dark Duet V E Schwab

I actually started this before I went away on holiday but it isn’t my actual book so I didn’t take it away. I read it when I was in a reading slump and getting ready for going on holiday so it kind of got forgotten. No more! I want to finish this duology badly and soon!

Shades of Magic: The Steel Prince Issue 2/3 V E Schwab, Enrica Angiolini, and Andrea Olimpieri

It’s a bit of a V E Schwab love in on this list, but that’s OK because she is bonafide awesome. Issue 2 has only actually been released today and issue 3 doesn’t come out for a little while, so I don’t feel bad that I haven’t read them, but I really really want to so I am going to plan to read them pretty much as soon as they drop on the door mat.

Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle Stuart Turton

I really wanted to read this book earlier in the year and actually started it, but I wasn’t in the mood to read a mystery and put it down before I had read too much of it to realistically stop reading. It’s so pretty and is sitting on my shelf ready. I really need to pick it up. It might work for Tome Topple and to off set some of the fantastical action of V E Schwab’s worlds too.

Christmas at the Palace Jeevani Charika

I was sent this by Bonnier Zaffre and as a shameless lover of the Netflix Classic The Christmas Prince, I think this is something I will really enjoy and we are definitely getting to the best time of year to read this sort of fluff. I can’t wait.

Well there we have it. They’re the books I want to read. I think I have the time to read them comfortably and enjoy them, and there is a good amount of variety in there to.

What are you hoping to read before 2019? Are any of these on your list?

Have you read any of these books? What did you think?

  1. I rarely read series until all of the books are out because I don’t like investing my time into a series that either gets cancelled before the end or turns out to have a terrible ending (I was burned by this a lot as a kid). Therefore, I can finally read Throne of Glass and plan to do so soon!

    1. I get that. I’m often like that with tv shows, but I do tend to get wrapped up in books more so. There’s nothing worse than enjoying something and then having it cut on a cliffhanger or ended badly because there wasn’t another instalment!
