Why oh why is Bout of Books coming to an end all over again? You really would think I’d be used to it by now, considering I’ve done well over 10 of these readathons, but apparently it is always difficult to deal with. The good news is it’s back in January, but the bad news is that’s agggggges away and I don’t wanna think about 2019 right now.
I’m also a Bout of Books expert, here to help the lovely ladies at Bout of Books with all your readathon related enquiries, and to offer all round support and help for the readathon! So please, comment on my updates, and tweet me here!
06:15am: This time on a Sunday is not to be seen, no-one should be waking up for work this early on a weekend, especially a bank holiday weekend, but I start work at 7:30am, so I will hopefully be home by 4(ish). I’ve packed my bag with books in case it’s quiet!
09:30am: I really thought work was going to be super quiet today, but turns out everyone who didn’t ring yesterday has decided to ring in today so it’a actually much busier. To be fair, I’d ring today if I had too as well, it’s raining cats and dogs outside – but not literally otherwise I would be out there catching a pet for out house.
12:30pm: I have finished Sin City Vol. 7 and if I am honest, was a little disappointed with it, the high standards set by the previous volumes were not maintained and it was not as good as I had hoped for. Oh well. I have also brought my proof copy of Boneless Mercies as well, but I am not sure it’s really what I am in the mood for right now. I should probably get on with Shadowblack, and y’know, work.
16:30pm: OK, so I read 3/4% of Shadowblack, which puts me almost halfway. I’m not sure I have the foggiest clue what is going in this book, and if I am honest, I am not entirely sure I am enjoying it, but I want to finish it because it will mean I have gained at least an Acceptable in all of my NEWTs, and because it was actually an ARC I was granted by NetGalley, so finishing and reviewing something on there will help me hugely. I have also just taken my Insta Challenge photo, and I am sharing the series love for the final challenge of Bout of Books 23!
20:30pm: Emma and I were going to read, but she was doing lots of productive things that came to an end when I got home and I think we were then both quite happy to crash in front of the TV and watch Vampire Diaries instead. I mean, can you blame us really.
22:00pm: I was so tired last night that I headed to bed and was curled up at 10pm. I live the best life. I think I am going to finish Bout of Books off by starting Boneless Mercies. It’s the first physical ARC I’ve ever owned or read and I am super excited for it!
Today’s challenge was simply to stretch yourself, and to be honest, I am really happy with the amount I read and think the only way this readathon could have gone better for me was if I had made the twitter chats. Sadly, the readathon chat times are more US based which doesn’t favour me here in (annoyingly rainy today) England, but I’ve enjoyed looking at the other Insta challenge pics, running sprints, and just generally hanging out with some brilliantly bookish people!
