Book Box Club | Unboxing June 2018

Hello and welcome back to another Book Box Club unboxing. I didn’t actually get the July crate, I wasn’t 100% sure a book based on witchcraft was for me, and although the items in it look amazing, I am kinda glad I took a month’s break. I have already ordered August’s box, and the September theme has been released and ticked the boxes, so I thought it was probably time to officially unbox June’s crate. I may have been all about the stargazer theme and really liked the April Fallen Angels box, but I think this is my favourite so far. The items are a little more my speed, and it featured TWO books, both of which sound awesome. I should be saving money guys, why do you make such enticing boxes?!

Book Box Club is a secret society YA subscription box that is sent monthly and features a specially selected, hot-off-the-press YA book release selected by the ladies in the know and owners Libby and Kate. The box features 4-6 specially curated bookish items, is wrapped beautifully and delivered reliably on time, and features an exclusive ‘Clubhouse’ invite to chat with the author whose book features in the box.

Theme: Bad Girls

All Of This Is True by Lygia Day Peñaflor

Description: A glamorous, enigmatic author, a cast of impressionable book lovers, a new friendship… but can you trust anyone with your darkest secrets? In this tale of manipulation, obsession and privilege, four teens find their personal dramas in the hands of a master storyteller…

This book sounds like all types of exciting and intriguing. I like a book with secrets, twists, and turns, and it’s apparently right up the alley for those who like One Of Us Is Lying and I just finished reading (and liking) that book. It’s a little different to the books in the previous two boxes and I am super-excited to read more YA contemporary.

This book came with a Clubhouse invite, as all Book Box Club boxes do, personally addressed to me that had an invititation to join an exclusive chat with the author Tessa Gratton.

Boneless Mercies (ARC) by April Genevieve Tucholke

This beautiful Advanced Reader copy of this badass book about a band of mercenary girls in search of female glory. It’s the first physical ARC I have ever owned, it is spectacularly gorgeous with it’s foiling and feathers and quotes, and it’s not released until October which means I will have time to read and review it before it’s released.

Bellatrix Pencil Tin

Guys, GUYS, it has the most evil but kinda brilliant Harry Potter badass female on a tin, and it is full of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans too. I mean, seriously you are spoiling us!

Maleficent Pencil

I’m quite a fan of Disney and I am partial to a bit of stationery, so this sleek black pencil with green Maleficent decal and brilliant slogan. I just really like it. I’m not sure if I ever want to use it, but it’s super pretty. It’s also a Book Box exclusive commissioned by the gals themselves. They treat us well.

Eau de Fatima Ro Shower Gel

This showergel smells simply divine. It’s coconut cream scented and smells awesome without being overpowering, and although I haven’t used it yet, I’m excited to add this super soft gel to my shower routine.

Queen of Hearts Print

I absolutely adore this print and have already added it to my gallery wall of eclectic prints and pieces. I’m not actually a huge Alice in Wonderland fan, but I like the simplicity and brightness of this print, and I didn’t quite have enough Disney up there. It’s nice to have a powerful lady up there too.

And I Darken Notepad

This notepad is really cute. Each page has a beautiful mandala motif, and the pad itself is inspired by the brutal princess warrior from the novel too. It has little quotes at the top and is the perfect size to fit in your bag and have on the go. This is also the brainchild of the Book Box Club gals, way to go!

Bad Girls Unboxed

Each Book Box Club features a themed spoiler card. This card is a fierce mix of Audrey Hepburn and female criminal and I am all about it. It has all the information relating to the creators and the items featured in the box, and will be a great addition to my collection.

Bookish Extras

Bloomsbury, Penguin Random House, and Scholastic have also popped in some bookish merch for recently released and upcoming titles. I’m starting to collect quite a few of these little postcards and bookish bits and I am starting to think they would make a great collage…

The item of the month for this month’s box is:
