Guys, I did a thing and signed up to another subscription because my Wizarding World Loot Crate and Willoughby Book Club ones are about to run out and I decided that I wanted to sign up to something. I had a bit of a hunt round and after thinking about it and doing some research, I opted for Libby and Kate’s secret society. The ethos is right up my street and it includes some awesome things. It’s also based in the UK which is handy for me as shipping costs put me off many box subscriptions, and the previous boxes looked awesome!
Yes, this says April, because I am super behind with things like reviews and I need to sort that out. So here, have an unboxing of a super awesome box. *Psst* Libby and Kate pack these boxes so prettily!!
Book Box Club is a secret society YA subscription box that is sent monthly and features a specially selected, hot-off-the-press YA book release selected by the ladies in the know and owners Libby and Kate. The box features 4-6 specially curated bookish items, is wrapped beautifully and delivered reliably on time, and features an exclusive ‘Clubhouse’ invite to chat with the author whose book features in the box.
Theme: Fallen Angels
Out of the Blue by Sophie Cameron
Description: Winged creatures are crashing to Earth at an extraordinary speed, not a single one has survived. Grieving the loss of her mother, Jaya wants nothing to do with the angel fever that is sweeping the nation. But, as she tries to avoid the mania, the exploitation and the protests that surround her, a live angel falls at her feet…
This book is absolutely stunning, and is a novel that I would never have heard about or discovered if I hadn’t signed up to Book Box Club. I’m not gonna lie to you guys, I still haven’t read it but I am excited to dive in. The reviews are amazing, and I really like the premise (even if it is outside my comfort zone), but I think it’s a holiday read for me, so I’m waiting until I go away and will most likely take this book with me.
This book came with a Clubhouse invite, as all Book Box Club boxes do, personally addressed to me that had an invititation to join an exclusive chat with the author Sophie Cameron.
This is a clever nod to the book as far as I am aware that, had I read the book, I would have probably appreciated a lot more. I like the fact that the girls have read an enjoyed the book and have included inside jokes in the box.
Fallen Angels Unboxed
Each Book Box Club features a themed spoiler card. The artwork on the fallen angels card is really pretty, and I can tell already that I am going to end up collecting these. I like that they’re included, it allows you to look at other things made by the wonderful creators featured in the box itself, and the picture epitomises the box theme really well.
Angel Veil Body Butter
Guys, I can’t even tell you about the smell of this body butter because it’s just so…mmmm. It’s like walking into a bakery or sweet shop that specialises in all things sugared almond, and it just smells so amazing. It comes in a little tin and is a really nice consistency.

Karou & Akiva Candle
I am a sucker for a good candle. I burn them in the house on a regular basis and I like having a good scented candle on show at all times. This bookish candle, inspired by the couple from The Daughter of Smoke and Bone, smells like spring in a tin. It’s fresh, lightly floral but not over-powering, and is sparkly!

I really like bookmarks and I like to have lots of choice when I’m reading. I often have a lot of books on the go at once so it’s always good to have a few to pick from and this is particularly pretty. It fits well with the angel theme too, who doesn’t want a ‘real’ angel feather for a bookmark really?

I’m not usually a big sticker person, but this is pretty cool. I’m thinking of sticking it on one of my journals because that would be awesome and remind me to keep slaying!

OK, so I am an idiot and forgot to include this in a picture, but it’s a pretty cool Shadowhunter notebook and is a great size for shoving in a bag and taking it with you.

Bloomsbury, Penguin Random House, and Scholastic have also popped in some bookish merch for recently released and upcoming titles. They’re really pretty and are actually giving me the urge to read some things I wouldn’t have heard of otherwise (I guess that’s the point right?)
It was too hard to narrow it down to a single favourite item in this box so I have chosen two:
Karou & Akiva Candle and Feather Bookmark
Coming soon: May’s Book Box Club unboxing! The theme is Stargazers!
