Well guys, there is no way to sugar coat what has been a fairly hard and long month. It’s actually been one of the longest, most tiring, most draining months I remember, and that is before we look at my reading performance! I know, I probably shouldn’t be hard on myself, but I really have lost my way. Reading has always been a haven and escape for me, so it’s really hard when my motivation leaves me and I am left struggling to finish the most simple of reads that would take me 2 days instead of two months. It’s becoming harder to knock off challenges, and although I have still technically not re-read any books yet*, I’m just struggling to read anything.
In May, I read 4 books, which is 1229 pages, and all of which are new reads to me*.
I read 4 fiction books, a mix of romance, Illustrated Children’s, YAand modern classic.
By Format, I read 1 Audiobooks, 2 Paperbacks, and 1 Hardback.
The average rating was 4.25/5 Stars for all of the books that I read in May.
(*I have never read the illustrated version of Harry Potter before)

The ‘Book of the Month’ for May is…
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Illustrated edition by J K Rowling
OK, so yes I am really disappointed with my reading for this month, but, I have decided to sign up to take part in an awesome readathon called Marvelathon (you can follow my progress and updates through this twitter thread) and I am hoping this reignites my love for reading. I think the ball is rolling with audiobooks again, so that’s a good start. I need to stop dwelling on the bad reading and just start enjoying it again pressure free.
I’m ready for a book filled June, are you? Here’s my TBR!
How has your May gone? What did you read?
Don’t be too hard on yourself! You read more books than I have in recent months. Thanks for sharing, and I hope the next month will be more enjoyable for you!
