Hey, hey, hey, we’re back and reading, and having fun together, right? It’s Day 2 already and things are going pretty well for me so far. Did you manage to get some reading done yesterday? Did you do the challenge? Did you manage to join in with the twitter chat? Sadly I missed it as I have a very early start today and needed my rest, and it fell at 2am for me! Don’t forget, you can still sign up, so make sure you’ve added your link here.
I’m also a Bout of Books expert, here to help the lovely ladies at Bout of Books with all your readathon related enquiries, and to offer all round support and help for the readathon! So please, comment on my updates, and tweet me here!
10:30am: I have this issue at the moment that I am half sleeping half frantically trying to get comfy enough to sleep properly all night ever night for some reason. It’s very irritating because it leaves me feeling tired the following day. I don’t feel like I have slept much at all even though I have had a good 10hrs sleep (ish). I finished The Wedding Date before I went to sleep last night, so I have already finished one book, whoop! I have read a few pages of Unconventional by Maggie Harcourt and I’m really enjoyed the few pages I’ve read. Once again, I am reading a book that’s not on my TBR oops.
12:15pm: I have just arrived at work and once again I just couldn’t bring myself to listen to an audiobook in the car. Instead, I listened to Disney hits because I really know how to live the most craziest life. I have also done today’s challenge below, and the BoB22IGChallenge, which I post on my Instagram.
17:30pm: Do you ever start reading a book and for whatever reason you really can’t get into it? You then forget to read it for ages but because you didn’t love it you dive straight in where you left off? The problem is that you can’t quite remember what happened, but now that you have realised you actually like it and it was either your mood when you originally read it that put you off, or the opening to the book, but you can’t go face going back and re-reading it all over again just in case you never finish it? No just me? Well that’s happening for me right now with Spellslinger by Sebastian de Castell. I found the opening quite messy and just put it down after 25% and just didn’t pick it up for a few weeks, and now when I have gone back to it I have been really enjoying it. Bloody typical.
20:35pm: I hate finishing this late at work and there is no chance I am going to start listening to an audiobook at this time is there? I am just going to have to start when I begin doing housework tomorrow and see if it sticks on Thursday when I am back in work again.
22:00pm: I was going to try and read some more before bed but the tiredness wall has hit and hit hard. I might be able to read a few pages of something before I go to bed, maybe Unconventional or Spellslinger. D’you know what? I may still be finding blogging a little difficult at the moment but I really feel like I have found my groove with reading again, it just took the right book and the right readathon. I’m super pleased!
Today’s challenge comes courtesy of Courtney @ Ceelynreading and is pretty awesome. Let’s throw it back to the year you were born, what was around then? What was being written and released? For me, we’re going back to 1991, and there were lots of things published, one of which was a book I read (and despised) earlier this year. I read and reviewed American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis, and have to say, it’s one of the worst books I’ve ever read and was published the same year I was born. Here’s hoping that there is no correlation!
How are you finding Bout of Books 22 so far?
