Bout of Books 22: Day 1

Guess who’s back, back again, Guess who’s back, tell a friend, yes yes yes it’s Bout of Books Time. I had completely lost my reading mojo, but excitement about my favourite readathon got me back in the reading mood last night and I could not be happier about that fact!

We’re all friendly, fun, and book obsessed, so if you’d like to take part, it’s not too late to sign up here! There will also be a Twitter Chat at 8pm CST (TZC) so if you’re up and about online, you should definitely take part. Make sure to follow @BoutofBooks and use #BoutofBooks when sharing posts on social media! I’m not sure I will be taking part in this one as it falls at 2am local time for me, but there is another one on Saturday if this time doesn’t suit you!

I’m also a Bout of Books expert, here to help the lovely ladies at Bout of Books with all your readathon related enquiries, and to offer all round support and help for the readathon! So please, comment on my updates, and tweet me here!

6:30am: I am up and about to leave for work. I am super sleepy this morning after what can only be described as a dreadful sleep, but I am glad that I have finished today’s challenge already and that I am up and on my way to work. If I am up and on my way now, I will be home early so that’s all good right?? I think I am going to start listening to Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch on the way to work today because i’m not listening to any audiobooks at the moment and I am looking for something not too long (I’m waiting for Sapiens with the library!) I’m going to take The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory with me to work too for my lunch break because I started it last night and I am hooked!

11:30am: So that great big plan to listen to an audiobook on the way to work fell completely flat and instead I ended up listening to the Hamilton OST and belting out the songs at the top of my voice. Why aren’t I in a West End show?

15:30pm: I am tired and grumpy. Well no, I’m tired and feel like I should be grumpy but the sun is out and the weather is just too nice to sit at home and wallow. I popped round to my parent’s house too, they have jazzy new patio furniture that will make summer BBQs even better!

18:30pm: Despite doing a full day at work and going for a shop and making/eating dinner, I feel like I haven’t done anything. I’m watching Great British Bake Off reruns with my housemate instead of reading as well. I blame her and Netflix!

22:30pm: Yay, it’s bed time and I am super excited about this fact because I am quite tired and just want to lie in bed and read for a little while. I have almost finished The Wedding Date, which is great news because I haven’t been reading much, but also it’s rubbish because it wasn’t on my TBR so I have literally completely gone against my TBR already. How typical, eh? I’ve decided to do the Instagram challenges that are new for Bout of Books 22. We’re using #BoB22IGChallenge if you want to take part or check it out?! I am sadly not taking part in the twitter chat tonight because it is too later for me (2am here) with work tomorrow, but I hope you all have a great time.

Today’s challenge is pretty simple: introduce yourself #insixwords. I don’t think I can introduce myself much better than I did last time round, and the time before that, so here we are:

Intrepid Bibliophile. Exploring Foodie. Scouse Gryffindor.

I love to hear from fellow readathon-ers, bibliophiles, and bloggers, so please connect with me, chat, sing, whatever floats your boat, because this readathon is so much better when we have fun together!

Are you taking part in Bout of Books 22? What are you reading?
