April: It’s a Wrap

I’m sat at home, putting off doing housework that needs to be done, frantically updating my reading spreadsheet for this month and thinking ahead to work. What an exciting morning, eh? It’s sunny outside today. It’s not really warm, yet, but it’s sunny. I finally feel like we’re getting to the good weather this year. Y’know, the kind that let’s you go for a walk and sit down and read a book in the local park. We’re getting there, slowly but surely.

Another month has gone by since my March Wrap Post and it’s been a poor reading month. I didn’t read that many books from start to finish, and ended up reading some absolute tripe towards the end of the month. I wouldn’t say I fell into a reading rut, but I worked so many hours for so much of the month that it left me with little time to read around it, so I think reading those rubbish throwaway novels has got me reading again. I’ve also got 4 books on my currently reading shelf, so if that’s anything to go by, then next month’s list should be a little longer and better looking. I’ve crossed off another couple of challenges, but they’re starting to get a little harder now, and I’ve somehow still only read books new to me. How?!

In April, I read 6 books, which is 2037 pages, and all of which are new reads to me.

I read 1 non-fiction and 5 fiction books, a mix of classics, romance, new-adult, historical fiction, fantasy, and YA.

By Format, I read 2 Audiobooks, 1 Paperbacks, 1 Hardback and 1 E-Book.

The average rating was 4/5 Stars for all of the books that I read in April.

The ‘Book of the Month’ for April is…

The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley

I’m not gonna lie to you, I am a little disappointed with my reading this month, but it was to be expected really. It’s not the end of the world and I know if I just finish the books I am currently reading, along with some new ones then May will be a good month. It’s also Bout of Books 22. If you don’t know anything about Bout of Books, then you should have a look at the best, most relaxed, fun, and friendly readathon here. It always gets me reading.

I’m ready for a book filled May, are you? Keep an eye out for my TBR!

How has your April gone? What did you read?
