Erm, yes, well, it’s Saturday. It’s not quite Friday really it is. Guys, I forgot. I’m not going to lie to you and come up with a reason for missing it, I completely forgot. I went to see Avengers: Infinity War yesterday and it got me like wooooooah so I was completely caught up with theorising and decompressing after the awesome mindscrew that was the film, so the post was completely put to the side. I’m sorry. I’m back, a little later than planned, but yeah I am here.
Fat Friday is a weekly blog post tracking my weight loss and fitness journey, used to keep myself accountable, keep a record of my progress, and share hints & tips that have helped me. To track my progress, or read my previous entries, click here.

I know I should start at the beginning of the week despite Avengers, so let’s swing it on back to last weekend, when the sun was shining, the warm weather had arrived, and I kicked back and chilled with my friend and travel buddy Jade. We didn’t have anything planned other than chatting and it was nice to spend time in the sun roaming Chester and having a catch up. We had some tapas style small plates in a micro brewery, had a wander through the city, and walked along the river for a bit and it was really nice. I should meet up with her more often and I should go to Chester more than I do.
Last Sunday was all about doing nothing all day. Well, not nothing, we did stuff. We went to zumba (which I think is finally getting easier to put more effort into) and then came back to the house, read, blogged and relaxed. I finally started work on our Disney Bullet Journal as Disney Prep really kicks in this week when our dining days open, so I start the plan for that, but all in all we had a nice day to ourselves. I think it let me plan the start of my diet kick back in as well, I thought about what exercise I might do in the week and what I might eat and realised I needed to make some changes again. We spent much of the day actually watching the marathon and tracking competitors that we knew/were famous, and it reminded me that one day I would love to do a marathon.
Once again, work was busy. I prefer it busy because my days go quicker and I feel a bigger sense of accomplishment that comes with getting stuff done. It also means that I eat less if I make a conscious decision not to snack. Snacks had most definitily creeped into my work life, so I made the decision to cut them back out and I have already noticed a different. Yes, I am eating less food, and yes that probably does make me more hungry, but I have already noticed that it’s having a more positive effect on my meal times, and that I feel better about dieting and the dieting process if I am not snacking on unhealthy things all the time. I’ve been mixing and matching between late and early shifts, between being on the phone and on progression, so it’s been a bit all over the place, but, I feel like I have coped OK with that.
Cut to later in the week. I was still dieting, and feeling good after Liverpool’s win vs Roma in the Champions League. I knew I wouldn’t be able to go to zumba because my Mum had reminded me about a meal that clashed, so I decided to go for a run. I think I was partly spurred on by watching the marathon, and partly wanting to get outside for a bit, but it was equal parts good and horrific. I followed the Couch to 5K principle of walking a bit, running a bit, walking a bit, running a bit and so on and so forth for 6K. It took me longer than I hoped and was definitely an effort, but I felt once again like I could keep it up, so I am going to try and add it into my schedule now as the weather is improving.
On Thursday, we went out to celebrate the someone pretty awesome connected to our family. It was the first time in a while that all the family have been out together, and we had a good night. Food was good, the cake was nice, the lady of the moment had a great evening, and it was pretty nice to do something all together, even if fate and football tickets tried to intervene.
Then Friday, where it all went wrong. Well, no it didn’, but it certainly shook us up. Emma and I booked Avengers: Infinity War weeks ago. We wanted to see it as soon as possible in IMAX, both had the day off, and just went for it. To prepare, we headed to the Tavern for breakfast, and in an effort to not be ridiculously unhealthy, I had the omelette. It was a good thing to be so full, because I didn’t move an inch during the whole movie. I was so wrapped up in the intensity of the movie that I sat bolt upright, at one point forgot to blink, and had no clue as to how much time had passed, so it was a good job I didn’t have to try and balance eating snacks too. I’m going to write a post about my post-Avengers thoughts over the weekend I think, most of the thoughts coming after we watched the film and were chatting about plot points and characters developments and theories.
WEIGHT: This week: -0.5lb Total: -23lb
EXERCISE: 2 Sessions: 1x Zumba, 1x run
MOOD: A little tired, but excited
RECIPE/FOOD/SNACK of the week: Seaweed peanuts
HINTS/TIPS of the week: Run/walk is the start of running
Would collecting the infinity stones in my own gauntlet give me the power to lose weight and get fit forever? Is that how it works? I wish it was. And as if last week’s excitement wasn’t enough, our Disney Dining reservations start to open this week , so things are going to get real, and get real quick.
