I don’t want to get you all excited and stuff, but, it’s been quite nice over the past couple of days. Not like a bit grey and not raining, but bright, and sunny, and not freezing. Is this is? Has winter 2018 finally ended? I hope so, April isn’t supposed to be cold and dreary.

Last weekend was full of chocolate, celebration, and illness. Emma and I received quite a lot of chocolate for Easter, and made some chocolate bird’s nest cakes to really celebrate Easter. My parents invited us round to their house for a nice roast, and all round we had a nice weekend. I was sadly in work for 3 days out of the 4, but Emma and most other people got to enjoy a long weekend.
I took part in my first readathon for some time. The Easter Readathon was hastily held and I decided to sign up. Even though I was in work, and distracted, and tired, and unwell, I still managed to get some reading done and actually finally finish Frenchman’s Creek. Emma made it to Zumba on Sunday morning before we went to my parents, but I felt horrendous. Something has been going round work and I think it was my time to catch it.
Sadly, the lack of zumba set the tone for the week and I did absolutely no exercise. I’ve fallen off the exercise bandwagon again and I’m not particularly happy about it. I know over the next couple of weeks that I am not going to have much spare time as I am planning to make the most of overtime opportunities at work (saving for Disney requires time and dedication I’ll have you know) so it’s even more important to plan gym sessions, but I just haven’t been bothered. Hopefully the improvement in the weather will encourage me to get outside, which I enjoy, but if not I need to get back into the gym. I at least have every weekend off this month, which isn’t something that happens very often in my line of work.
Although I haven’t eaten particularly unhealthily this week overall, there has been a lot of snacking opportunities. I received another shipment of pepperidge farm goldfish, and even though I know I shouldn’t eat them or even buy them, I can’t resist. I genuinely think I might be addicted. Throw in the cakes and the chocolate and it’s no surprises that I don’t feel like I am getting anywhere. Easter eggs taste so good as well.
I have had a bit of a wake up call though. We’re less than a month away from booking Disney Dining reservations which means we’re just over 6 months from Disney itself. I need to get this diet kick started again before it becomes too late. I think the planning and the booking will hopefully be the trigger, especially as all the nice summer clothes that I will need are coming into the shops now.

OK, I need to stop whining about the weather and not losing any more weight and get going again. Simpler said than done but that is where we are at.
