This is the last full week of February. I am so pleased, because I am ready for my work bonus, and I am ready for Spring. I also have some days booked off in March, so I should be able to have a bit of a relaxing time. I’m looking forward to it, and Easter. But that is by the by, because here and now, it’s a Friday evening, it’s blooming freezing, and the nice sunny days have really just been cold days in work.
Fat Friday is a weekly blog post tracking my weight loss and fitness journey, used to keep myself accountable, keep a record of my progress, and share hints & tips that have helped me. To track my progress, or read my previous entries, click here.

Last week, I mentioned briefly that I went to the cinema to see Black Panther and went to a Lebanese street food restaurant called Bakchich. Let me tell you guys, both were AMAZING. The film lived up to all of the hype and then some, it was incredible, and clever, and brilliantly done. If you get the chance to see it you 100% need to get to your local cinema. And the food, wow, I mean I’ve never thought about trying Lebanese food, and I’ve never known what it’s like, but I have to say that the food was incredible, it tasted amazing, it arrived quickly, it was cheap, and I loved it. It was a great night.
The problem with going out for dinner and to the cinema is that you eat a lot. I didn’t get snacks for the pictures because I was too full, but it was so worth it. As a result of my exercise pact and the big night, we decided to do a double bill of zumba. This meant that we ended up going to both Saturday and Sunday morning zumba classes. It was great in one sense, the classes are very different, and I was tired and sore after the first, never mind the second, but I was pleased with out decision.
Our present? Our prize? Well, last week was pancake day, but we went a bit hard on shrove Tuesday with out American Pancakes, and didn’t get the chance to have crêpes. So, we decided to have them for lunch after a Zumba session. I can’t even tell you how great a decision this was. We decided to try having cheese and proscuitto, and we had chocolate, raspberries, and strawberries ones too, and it was a good day. A very good decision.
I haven’t done quite as much exercise as I wanted to this week, but I have done three proper workouts and I have found a couple of short yoga and stretch workouts to help you sleep. I have also kept up with my no napping pact, which I have to say is helping with my night’s sleeping patterns? Who’d’ve thunk it eh? I am going to bed a little earlier, on the whole, and actually have found a better routine. I think the bedtime yoga and stretch routines are helping my foot and my body relax too. I don’t truly buy into all of this kind of thing, but it is helping and making me feel better.
I have taken up doing some of Yoga With Adrienne’s videos again. I really like her style, and find her videos accessible and doable for my yoga levels. She also does ‘foot yoga’ quite a lot. I didn’t know it was a thing, and don’t know if anyone else does it, but the little bits she does has really helped my foot a lot this week. I have noticed a big difference.
I really could have eaten a little bit better towards the end of the week, but at the beginning, I really nailed it. I made a Moroccan stew in the slow cooker. I made it on Sunday and cut up our old potatoes and butternut squash and threw it in with chicken, chorizo, chickpeas and tomatoes, as well as some frozen vegetables from the bowels of our freezer. I let it cook all day and then took it to work for the next couple of days. It was really nice and well spiced and made me realise just how useful the slow cooker really is. I say this every week but this time I actually acted upon it.

MOOD: Tired but pleased
RECIPE/FOOD/SNACK of the week: Lebanese Street Food
HINTS/TIPS of the week: Not napping makes you sleep better at night
I am really pleased that I have lost weight again, but I seem to have been stuck at this weight for a while now, going up and down around it. I am done with it, I just want to lose some more and drop into the next 10lbs bracket. Y’know how 70% seems so much better than 69% even though there is barely any difference, well I am at that point with this weight and if I could just lose and keep off 2 more lbs, I will be in the set of ten lower. I think that would be a huge boost.
