The sun is shining and the weather is looking good. Is it the start of Spring? Is it a nice day in the middle of the winter? Who knows, who cares? It’s just nice to have some clear days! I wish the same could be said for my weight loss, a similar happy vibe, but unfortunately I can’t share such happy news on that front. I think I knew at the weekend that it was going to be a bad week, but it’s been a busy one, so I’ll have to grin and bear it.

I’ve cranked up the amount of overtime I am doing a little bit this month, to get a little bit of extra money for Disney. It’s bonus month in the office, we was a welcome pay packet addition, but the boost in money didn’t help my eating habits. I have majorly fallen off the ‘prep’ and ‘bring food in’ fronts, having bought a few things this week. Oh well. I don’t like doing this moneywise or healthwise, so I need to get back on top of this next week. I am spending time in a more structured manner in work for next week, so it is a good opportunity to try and get into the habit of bringing food in again.
And then we have pancake day. I like pancakes, and I like Pancake day, so it was never going to be the healthiest of weeks. We shopped for ingredients that we didn’t have in, and made a stack of pancakes. The stack said it served 8-10, so we thought it would give a couple each to enjoy. Well no, it didn’t at all, it made about 20, so we ended up with some impressive pancakes! I’m not even going to say I regret it, because the chocolate spread and raspberry pancakes, and the lemon curd and raspberry pancakes we so tasty that I demolished them. Did you celebrate and make any?
I have been exercising a little more this week. I went to Zumba on Sunday and the gym on Wednesday, and have discovered a great 7 minute sleep yoga session which I now do every evening before bed. My foot has been a lot better this week, whatever I have been doing is really helping, so I am going to try and keep it up because it would be nice to forget what the plantar fasciitis pain actually feels like.
This week I also committed to Lent. I find the defined period to be a good one for giving bad habits up, but Fat Friday has meant I don’t eat as badly as I used to. So, with that I mind, I have decided to add and remove lifestyle things rather than foods. Hopefully it will work. I have committed to a life without napping, and have pledged to exercise every day. I worry that no napping on 6am starts will be hard, and that I will struggle a little bit to fit in my exercise, but I am pretty determined and think it will have a positive effect on my fitness and weight loss efforts.

Well, it was a bad week, but they happen. It’s a late post today because I enjoyed a Lebanese meal at local restaurant Bakchich and went to see Black Panther in IMAX (Man! It lives up to the hype and then some! For the next week, it’s all aboard the health train. Again.
