Its already Friday. I just cant believe it. Where has this week gone? Its almost halfway through January already. Ahhhhh. I’ve actually had a pretty awesome week so far. I feel like I’m back on track with reading, I’ve made new friends and connected with old ones. I’ve enjoyed blogging and tweeting. I’ve just been having a good time. It’s a shame I have to work this weekend or I’d be able to get some serious reading done!! I did finish my second and third books yesterday, although I still haven’t done the challenge. It will go back and do it because it was a real good’un.
I’m also a Bout of Books expert, here to help the lovely ladies at Bout of Books with all your readathon related enquiries, and to offer all round support and help for the readathon! So please, comment on my updates, and tweet me here!
5:45am: I went to the quiz last night, so it was quite a late one. It always leaves me tired on a 6am the next day. I’ve trialled something today though. Usually I am one to shower in the morning before I go out, so I decided to have a shower late last night, which should allow me an extra bit of time in bed. I’m not sure it will help but I’m giving it a go!! I’ve brought with me Ruin and Rising to read, and have The Intruder and Hangman eARCs on my phone too. Just not sure which one to tackle first. It’s got to be something that gets me hooked because Anne of Green Gables is not enthralling.
8:30am: I was so disillusioned with Anne of Green Gables this morning that I decided to listen to music instead on my way to work. I just wasn’t awake enough to keep it. It means I’ve done no reading today. Eek! I have done, and loved today’s challenge, and gone back and done yesterdays too, so that’s something at least. I have also been in work since 6am, so it’s not like I’ve done nothing!
11:45am: I’m tired. I’m hungry. I’m not reading. Did I mention that I’m tired? These 6am starts back to back are killing me off and I have another 2 this weekend!! Urgh. Butttttt…..I’ve shift swapped tomorrow to start earlier, which means I should be free to do the Twitter chat. Yayyyy!
14:40pm: I’ve got home, and I was fully intending to have a nap, but I’m actually quite awake and Helicopter ER is calling instead. It’s also freezing in the house for some reason, hmmmm.
16:00pm: So it turns out that the heating is off and we have not hot water. I’m hoping it’s going to be a quick fix. I fear it might be a boiler issue. We shall see, we shall see. I’ve got the fire on to try and get a room a bit warmer. My parents are going to come round and see if they can help too. Fingers crossed everyone!!
19:00pm: Good news! My parents came round, and my Dad looked at the boiler and did a Daddish thing and then boom, it worked again. Yes, it took a little while to warm the house, but we’re now sitting down, fairly toasty, in the living room. I may have read diddly squit today, but I have heating again so woo! I’m also really pleased that today’s challenge seems to be going down well. I really hope you like it!
21:50pm: I am about to go to bed I think. I’m in work at 6am again tomorrow, and I want to be awake enough to get some reading and blogging done tomorrow, and of course to be alive for the twitter chat. A last minute shift swap has meant that I will be very much raring to go! I haven’t read a single thing today, and feel quite bad about it. I just wasn’t in the mood to listen to my audiobook, and enjoyed my music much more, and sometimes that is just what happens. I have, however, managed to write and finish (almost) my review for The Hazel Wood, which I will probably be posting next week! Ge gentle.
We all like a catchy newspaper heading, and have fallen foul of a clickbait title, so it’s time for you to create one for yourself! Think of the plot of your favourite books, or even the books you hate, and condense it down into a snappy title! I may or may not have gone a little crazy with this challenge haha!
