Another week has flown by. I’ve turned 26 by celebrating in some of the most low-key ways possible, and I’ve been ill. So, it’s been a mixed week. This is going to be a short one folks, because I am too bunged up and full of cold to concentrate for too long, but I didn’t want a week to float by without a post.
Fat Friday is a weekly blog post tracking my weight loss and fitness journey, used to keep myself accountable, keep a record of my progress, and share hints & tips that have helped me. To track my progress, or read my previous entries, click here.
Please join me, support me, and help me along my way as I am to improve my life for the better!
I had a nice weekend just gone. We didn’t do a lot, other than chill out, which was much needed. Emma and I took my Gran to Dobbie’s (our local garden centre) as it had a 20% off Christmas event on and we like to go there for the odd mooch and coffee/scone. I’m still trying with the healthy eating, but it’s hard, so the scone served as my lunch rather than a snack. Saturday also marked TBTB Santa pairing day! (for information on TBTB Santa, click here to travel through the interweb to the host’s site: Broke and Bookish). I like my pairing, I am super happy with it, and my mind just went immediately into overdrive about all the cool things I could buy.
So, with our pairings in mind, and the assurance from Emma that her IKEA chair would 100% fit in the car, we headed to Warrington. Via the Tavern of course. This was my birthday treat out, and I’m glad we did it, it’s just awesome and everyone should go. We hit the Range first to purchase bits and bobs for our respective TBTB Santa recipients. I have so many ideas, and managed to pick up a few key things, what I don’t know is, what is too much, or too far with the present buying?
We also went to IKEA, pretty much as my birthday day out (but a day in advance) because we live that crazy a life. Emma has wanted to buy this Armchair called Strandmon in dark grey since she moved in over a year ago. Many a blogger and vlogger seems to have the chair, and she has finally decided to take the plunge. Once in there, we of course purchased the footstool too, because who buys a chair without a footstool, and other titbits for the house. And to her credit, it did fit in the car, a lot more easily than I feared it would. It was proudly constructed straight away, and sits in our Living room. I say sits, it dominates, but in a good way I think.
Tuesday saw my 26th birthday, and I was starting to feel ill, but hey ho, gotta carry on with your birthday celebrations. I got to see my Aunt who visited with her friend from Wolverhampton, and then I celebrated with my brothers, their girlfriends, my Gran, and Emma, with pizza and cake. Pretty awesome day amiright? I was also spoilt, and received an awesome amount of cool gifts, from glass globe paperweights to Roald Dahl Books to a Pandora bracelet, I mean, the list goes on and on. I think I’m going to do a haul post when I am feeling a little better and the books that I bought with my vouchers have arrived! Thank you, sincerely, to everyone!!
Since then, I have felt rotten. I have a cold/infection, and normally I would moan and battle on with it, but I can feel it in my throat, chest, and sinuses, which is unlike colds I usually have. I was in work on Wednesday and Thursday, and made lots of plans and met for the first time with the work book club (which I am super excited about!) but today, it was too much. I barely slept last night, I felt like somehting was sitting on my chest and face, and I decided to stay at home. Sometimes that is what has to happen.
My eating and exercise this week has been truly atrocious, but that was expected given it was my birthday week, and then I fell sick, but the excuses have to stop now. As of tomorrow, I am back on this strict time. OK, so I am not going to be going out and exercising until I feel better, but there is no excuse to crack back down on food. I was hoping (granted very optimistically) to lose 2st before Christmas, and the past 3 weeks have halted that potential progress. Yes, I hit a stone lost last week which is a great achievement, but I can feel it slowing and stopping, and can feel my resolve slipping a little, so I need to get back on the horse, so to speak!
WEIGHT: This week: –1lb Total: -15.5lb
MOOD: Ill, sick, possibly dying
RECIPE/FOOD/SNACK of the week: Lemsip (well ASDA’s own version)
HINTS/TIPS of the week: Eat you fruit and don’t get sick.
OK, so maybe that wasn’t so short, it’s been a busy week!!
