We’re all friendly, fun, and book obsessed, so if you’d like to take part, it’s not too late to sign up hereOnce again, I decided to set myself some TBR challenges, and as I mentioned in my sign up post, I’m also taking part in #TheReadingQuest, so if you want to see my progress, you can follow that here too!

I’m also a Bout of Books expert, here to help the lovely ladies at Bout of Books with all your readathon related enquiries, and to offer all round support and help for the readathon! So please, comment on my updates, and tweet me here!

Updates

7:10am: I thought I would get this Bout of Books off to a good start with a nice early post! I’m waiting my turn in the bathroom before work, and thought I can use this time more wisely than just lying here debating all the ways I could pretend I didn’t have to get out of bed in a minute. I probably should have made a coffee too, but that would have been too organised, and would have involved going downstairs. I know my limits people! I’m packed and ready to go for work, A Dance with Dragons: Part II: After the Feast is in my bag for station and train reading. It’s for the ‘Grind’ side quest for #TheReadingQuest, and will also mean I am soon completely up to date with A Song of Ice and Fire. Yey, only been reading them FOR A WHOLE YEAR. But yes, good morning, welcome back one and all. This is going to be fun. I can feel it in my bones.

7:30am: I did my lazy self out of bed and made me and my housemate coffee. I am proud of myself for this adult life decision.

9:15am: Don’t get me wrong, I prefer driving to work.  Yes I was bound to what audiobooks were available on Overdrive but I prefer it.  That said, waiting at the station and sitting on the train for a total of 30mins minimum is giving my ample time to start shifting through my physical TBR. Don’t get me wrong, is prefer the extra half an hour in bed rather than sitting at work unpaid, but it gives me even more time to read.  I’m trying my best to find positives this Monday morning heading into a 10 hour shift! In other news, I’ve done today’s challenge and already read 45 pages of A Dance with Dragons Part II.

1:45pm: OK, I feel much better about finishing A Dance with Dragons Part II now as I know that Arts, Cersei, and Jaime are back in the game. It just wasn’t as fun with them. That, and I don’t care if their stories are ruined by the TV show in the same way as the others. I just shamelessly like the Lannisters and the badass version of Arya.

4:00pm: I’m on my ‘lunch’ in work and I’m struggling a bit. It’s my own fault for doing overtime, but it’s also busy. I have read close to 100 pages though so far, which is good. I’m pleased with that. I’ve just realised that I won’t make it to the first Twitter chat tonight though, which I’m gutted about. It’s at 8pm CST which for me is 2am, so I’ll be tucked up in bed asleep. Oh well. I hope you all get to join in.

8:10pm: Just standing at the train station, in the cold wind, in the rain after a 10hr shift wondering why I do overtime. Sigh. My book is getting wet too, and if I’m honest that’s what I am more bothered about!! Should be able to get through another chapter or 2 on the way home!

9:15pm: I read another 45 pages of A Dance with Dragons Part II on the train home, can’t believe I’m almost half way through the last book so far released in A Song of Ice and Fire. I think I’m going to try and read a bit of A Conjuring of Light before bed as well, just to keep going with it. It’s hard to balance readathons!! I was so tired when I got home that I completely ignored the grocery delivery and had peanut butter & chocolate spread on toast – dinner of champions!

11:20pm: I have precisely no idea what I have been looking at on the internet for the past half an hour but I definitely should have been in bed. Oops. And tomorrow we go again!

Challenges

Today’s challenge is pretty simple: introduce yourself #insixwords. I don’t think I can introduce myself much better than I did last time round, so here we are:

Intrepid Bibliophile. Exploring Foodie.  Scouse Gryffindor.
