The 140 character review is a short and to the point tweet length review of, well, anything really (but mainly books, movies, live productions, and TV shows). It was born from a desire to review everything I watched, read, and saw, without committing to long length reviews. To see more, click here.
Today, I have started with one of my favourite collections: The Marvel Universe. I have decided to split it into 3 sections, Phase 1, Phase 2, and TV series, which will be released over 3 weekends, starting with phase 1 today!
Iron Man: A brilliant egomaniac as the hero, amusing and clever throughout, geeky references abound, fantastic MCU origin, one of my favourite films.
The Incredible Hulk: Quite messy, fairly monstrous, (slightly dodgy) action-packed. Less slick than Iron Man, and more brutal than Thor, and a too long.
Iron Man 2: Making new stable elements is just ridiculous, but I still love the narcissistic Stark. Not as strong as the first but still funny and quick
Thor: Space and Asgard look pretty, but the special fx and Thor’s eyebrows are dodgy at best. Poorly Shakespearean and my least favourite MCU film
Captain America: The First Avenger: A little too all-american, a little too cheesy, but a great cast and good film. Better when you go back and watch it later in the franchise
The Avengers: Big. Bold. Brilliantly brash. Genuinely clever and amusing, solid action scenes, and great camaraderie. Lived up to the high expectations.
What do you think of these films? How would you review them, especially in just 140 characters?
